Denny Umri ButarButar, S.H., M.H.
Managing Partner
Mr. Denny Umri ButarButar is one of the founders of DGP Law Firm. He focuses on corporate and financial transactions. He is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) since 2015. He is also licensed as a curator in bankruptcy or postponement of debt payment obligations. Prior to establishing DGP Law Firm, Mr. Denny started his career by joining one of the leading banking law firms in Indonesia handling various state-owned companies and their affiliates. These companies cover various business sectors such as MSME financing (government program), banking (both conventional and sharia), oil and gas, trading ports and industrial estates. Since 2010 Mr. Denny has assisted and participated in various legal matters such as the issuance of bonds, sukuk and medium-term notes. He was also involved in many corporate transactions relating to M&A, debt restructuring, liquidation, contracts, labor unions as well as auditing the procurement process. He has also provided many legal opinions on legal issues faced by clients. In 2020, he assisted the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI), which is a Public Service Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, as a legal expert relating to communication access in remote, outermost and disadvantaged areas in Indonesia. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of North Sumatera in 2009 and master’s degree from University of North Sumatera.
Gideon Emmanuel Tarigan, S.H.

Mr. Gideon Emmanuel Tarigan is a Partner at DGP Law Firm. He focuses on areas related to Corporate Transactions, Capital Markets and Debt Restructuring. He is a licensed advocate and a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI). He is also licensed as a curator in bankruptcy or postponement of debt payment obligations. In addition, he has also been accepted as a member of HKHSK (Indonesian Financial Sectors Legal Consultants Association) and a registered legal consultant with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Prior to joining DGP Law Firm, he worked at a prominent law firm in Indonesia handling clients from state-owned companies. The list of companies includes various business sectors such as finance, banking, oil and gas, agribusiness, and aviation. While practicing as a lawyer since 2011, he has assisted and been actively involved in various legal matters, cases, and transactions in the areas of capital markets, transnational loans, and high-profile acquisitions. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Law, Trisakti University.
